SMANDA, I’LL NEVER FORGET.
My internship in SMA NEGERI 2 Malang started in august 2010. It was very busy two months. During my time here, I experienced how it is like to work as a teacher in Indonesian senior high school. Everyday when I came to school, to start my works students greeted me with smile and polite phrases such as “Mr. David”, “Hello MISTER!!” or simply “MISTER!!”.
What will stay in my mind for a long time are students in SMA NEGERI 2 MALANG, who were always cheerful, always smiling, playing. They have so much energy, and most of all they are never sad, or down. That was special to see students here who where never aggressive, but always positive.

It’s interesting for me how all students reacted while during a basketball practice I unintentionally broke the basketball rim, I know it was a gossip around the school for several weeks, students asked me later why did I do that, and they said the admire my height and ability to jump so high, to be able to touch the basketball rim, at first I was embarrassed, but later I apologized to students, saying I didn’t plan to brake it.I was able to teach here during fasting month, RAMADHAN, it was the first time for me to experience fasting month, its tradition that I admire and support.
The other thing that I will also remember is students behavior towards each other. They were only polite, I never saw any students arguing, or being a bad mood with each other.
Thank you very much to the Principal and all teachers, who supported me, throughout my internship. SMA NEGERI 2 will stay in my memory forever. Thanks especially to Mr. Saleh, who helped me during my first days here, and to all English teachers at SMANDA
Thank you very much SMANDA and good luck.
